It’s not every day you find out your art is going to be on the moon…but four of my paintings are headed there! “February, 2005”; on the cover of “Tango Desolado”, “Kerri, aware”, “Sasha” and “The Artist and her Familiar”, all oil, will be stored digitally in a time capsule as part of the Lunar Codex project.
Dr. Samuel Peralta is curating which artworks will be sent. The two missions expect to land on the lunar surface in November,2021 and December 2021. Both landings will be live-streamed. I am honoured to have my work be a part of this cosmic adventure!
“The Lunar Codex is the most expansive, international, and diverse collection of contemporary art launched to the Moon. Significantly, it is the first project to launch the works of women artists to the lunar surface.” “It speaks to the idea that, despite wars and pandemics and climate upheaval, humankind found time to dream, time to create art.”
~Dr. Sam Peralta
