Biography (C.V.)

Heather Horton was born and raised in Burlington, Ontario, Canada.

She attended McMaster University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. She then went on graduate from the well-respected Interpretive Illustration program at Sheridan College. She has pursued her passion for painting ever since.

Heather followed her dream and moved to The Yukon Territory in 2013. In the spring of 2015 she returned to Ontario to help care for her mother and to continue painting full time.

Heather’s work focuses on internal states, contemplative narratives and often has a personal connection to her own life. She paints people and places she is close, and is inspired by what is often suggested rather than what is obvious.

Heather has been exhibiting regularly since 2004 when she joined Abbozzo Gallery, and has had numerous solo and group exhibitions over the years. Her next solo exhibition is in September 2016 at Abbozzo Gallery called “What Dreams May Come”.

Heather’s work can be found in private and corporate collections in Canada, The United States, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and The United Kingdom. A selection of her paintings is now a part of the permanent collection at the Canadian Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, as well part of the Government of Ontario’s permanent collection.

Heather has been profiled by Bravo! Canada on a series called The Artist’s Life.

She is represented by Abbozzo Gallery in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Below is my current Artist CV. It has been edited for space and includes highlights, rather than the entirety of the CV as it is rather long!
